A nice collection of 800 years of music: http://www.wga.hu
-- Message from the Channel --
Thank you everyone for appreciating my channel and appreciating the music I have chosen. First, I would like to apologize for not answering the personal questions some users have sent to me. I do not regularly check messages or comments. Next, I am posting this bulletin to suggest some ways to enjoy music in a different way, maybe a little different from how you enjoy music. I would like to say that all of the videos I have posted are works that, to me, are musical masterpieces. The videos that I choose for my favorites are indeed favorites of mine. These are videos that, to me, are incredible performances by incredible people. If anyone is interested in the music I am interested in, they should always check my favorites. For ways to enjoy music away from my channel, I will give some suggestions. The number one thing anyone can do is listen to performances in person. This could range from the local symphony, opera, chamber music, solo recitals, ballet, and other forms of performance. The next best thing is listening to recordings, or performances recorded on video. The best way to listen to recordings is, of course, listening to actual CDs, records, tapes, and other devices. However, no one is going to have all the works of all the composers. There are web sites, though, that will have recordings free to listen to, but don't expect much. I suggest using a website called "Naxos Music Library" ( http://www.naxosmusiclibrar... ). It has a massive amount of recorded music from many different genres, of many different composers, and performed by many different artists. The website does require a paid subscription.
In addition to listening to music, I highly suggest looking at the score as you listen. I think it is many many times more interesting than just listening. It will make you much more familiar with the music. For scores, I would highly recommend a website called "International Music Score Library Project" ( http://www.imslp.org ). It has a wealth a public domain scores from an enormous amount of composers. It has all the works of Bach, and most of the works of Mozart, Schubert, Liszt, Schumann, and many works of other notable composers. This website is free to use.

Bach Listening Suggestions
------------------------------ ----------
BWV 1-224: I would highly suggest listening to the recordings of Ton Koopman and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra. Another suggestion would be to listen to any cantatas conducted by John Eliot Gardiner or Karl Richter.
