Placing a historical context around contemporary social media use by
library communities and constituents, Patricia F. Anderson offers
examples of emerging technologies librarianship that reveal
relationships with traditional librarianship, and proposes a model of
collaborative librarianship. Selected examples include local community
support and engagement projects, outreach to researchers, and
librarianship integrating virtual worlds with other online social
networks.
