I am a pianist, a teacher, a university lecturer and an author and also an opera lover. I was classically trained in London but enjoy many different musical styles now from Baroque to rock.
The three performers who have influenced me the most are Claudio Arrau, Wilhelm Kempff and Maria Callas. In a different vein, I'm a huge fan of Oscar Peterson, Erroll Garner, Ute Lemper and the progressive rock band Planet X.
I enjoy reading novels, biographies and books on history, philosophy and religion (time permitting), and also enjoy country walks.
I dedicate this channel to all the many musicians and works of art that have sustained and inspired me. I've been very lucky.
