From very early on in his career, Paul Kelly has been recognised as one of the most significant singer/songwriters in the country. Inspired initially by the likes of Bob Dylan, Hank Williams, Lou Reed and Ray Davies, Kelly's narrative song writing is infused with wry observations, bittersweet emotions and enormous appeal.

As well as issuing an enduring body of work with his own bands, Kelly has written film scores (Lantana and the Cannes 2006 highlight, Jindabyne), and produced albums for and written songs with some of Australia and New Zealand's finest artists.

One more thing - **there are videos for all his songs!** I had no idea - seriously! It's truly criminal how underappreciated/underpromoted he's been here in the U.S. I live in Nashville and if he ever plays here, I'll personally go door to door hanging his flyers all over town...and whatever else I can do to help.

This is the best thing in the whole world!! Really, I mean it - I live in the USA, and am a long term Paul Kelly fan (mid 80s, just lucked up and bought one of his albums as an import when I was just a kid). For years - years! - there was very little news outside Oz about PK at all. If it hadn't been for the OPH list, I'd have gone bats...

Now there's a book! and an audiobook! and a Web and Facebook page - and we find things out as they happen, not years later!

I'm getting ready to blow off work to fly hundreds of miles to go see PK here in the States again - he's right up there with the Beatles to me. Can't thank the staff who updates all his sites enough.

I dedicate this to my wife Hannah, who turned 39 yesterday!
She is beautiful! And she's mine!
I love you Hannah!

hey paul i think you should have been driving a valiant or even leyland p76 but really a val. also it would be fantastic if in one of your film clips you could be thrashing down the street on a stuffed horse(taxedermist) with a 265 hemi engine in it and weilding an early 90's steve vai ibanez electric. I would favour the 265 as it would fit inside the horse and go with its shape better than a V8. It would only have to be a stock motor for that horser. also we could thrash it through the wall of tacobills and sup upon a zesty mexican feast then storm Wendys for some donuts and thrash the attendant through the roof like a pole. see you soon hopefully.

It's not quite Paul's Birthday here in Berlin yet, but I'll send my Birthday wishes now. May you be blessed with the calm to draw from your story telling power for many years to come, for this itself empowers others to tasks they may not have ventured towards without your words dressed perfectly whatever the situation. Thank you most sincerely.
