I began flintknaping around 1980 and have been at it ever since. I am interested in all forms of flintknapping from the replication of small bird points to large dance blades.
All of the videos that I have posted here are also available on DVD at my website shown below. The DVD's were copied directly from my digital camcorder and have much better quality and far higher resolution.

I would suggest giving it a try, but be aware that flintknapping can be very addictive! I'd reccommend trying to pressure flake some glass into an arrowhead for starters, then if it clicks find a good antler billet or bopper and give percussion a try. Most of all, just have fun with it!

I am incredibly interested in knapping... I've probably watched 100+ videos, yours and others. What suggestions would you give to someone who is interested in getting involved in this ancient art form?

Thanks all. I got into flintknapping in the early 1980's after moving up to Oregon and finding arrowheads in my garden. Started collecting points and studying them. Many of the finer ones inspried me to learn how they were made. Been hooked on breaking rock ever since!

Hi Jim,
We haven't meet but I've admired your work for years. This is Geno from Reno. I used to owner Stone Age Trading Co.
Excellent notching. While in Quartezite Randy Beach was teaching me the methods and what not to do. Well the what not to do part always seemed to get in the way. LOL
I haven't touched a rock in 2 years. Shame on me, but will get back into it this spring.
