National Food Strategy

In partnership with the Canadian Federation of Agriculture and other farm groups, the idea is to create a strategy that allows Canadians to have a say in what food will be produced in Canada and how it will be produced

Food Banks
The Ontario Federation of Agriculture and the Ontario Association of Food Banks have partnered to launch a program that encourages farmers to donate quality food that is otherwise wasted, to food banks. In return, it is hoped the Ontario government will give participating farmers a tax break for charitable donations.
Ontario Agriculture Sustainability Coalition (OASC)
The Ontario Agriculture Sustainability Coalition (OASC) was formed to unite farmers in the establishment of an ongoing business risk management program to protect farmers from conditions beyond their control. The first public meeting of OSAC was held in early 2010 in Stratford, Ontario.
Farming and Energy
More and more Ontario producers will be selling to the Energy sector as the agenda moves beyond food.
