I am not grateful for life. I didn't ask to be here and if I wasn't here, I would have no brain to generate a consciousness to know about it. I have a low opinion of life and living. This to me is an addiction of always acquiring more. Every time I have acquired something new in my life, the appreciation for the newly acquired item has diminished quickly and been replaced by complacency before the desire for a new item has arisen, and the whole cycle has gone on and on.
With this in mind, I have attempted to cap my consumption and appreciate the fact that I have my bases covered. Shelter, food and relationships. Hmmm, actually I could have more of the last one.
While I am not grateful for life, I am grateful for the particular life I find myself in. I'm in a 1st world country with clean water, gas and other conveniences at my finger tips. I have public services at my disposal when I need them. And I can enjoy many fruits of the labours of our forefathers.
I am currently studying science for this reason. It is the discipline and use of science that can be thanked for the fact that a portion of the world gets to live in the best times to be living.

to see things you have to walk out into the light. to see things about relating to other people, that light can be hard to bear because we make silly mistakes that affect others. i heard a comedy routine the other day, the man said he was glad women couldn't read his mind because they would never stop slapping him. there is a spirit that is the force behind every thought, & Jesus the Christ is the Lord over every thought. God is a Spirit. but no one wants to hear the truth of it, because they WANT to keep thinking the thoughts that get you slapped for the buzz it gives them! this is only one example of an area where many fail & hide in the Dark. but it's not worth Hell to hide from your Maker! come out, repent & LIVE!
