We at the Musicians Hive connect musicians with anyone seeking entertainment in London and England's home counties. We are interested in forging links with existing music venues, promoters, and agents (etc). Moreover, we can provide entertainment options for existing locations and venues and also those not currently set up for music. We can therefore organize the provision for PA sound system set-up, and our clients can select from our pool of musicians to perform at their venue or function.

MUSICIANS HIVE PERFORMERS

Dale Harris

Guitarist, Baroque Lutenist, accompanist, record company director, music lecturer and teacher, recording studio owner.

Style: Classical, Jazz, World Folk, Fusion, Pop-rock, Country.

Dale Harris is primarily a classical guitarist, although he is in demand as an accompanist to singers and musicians of all genres. Dale began playing the guitar at the age of four and he gave his first solo public performance at age 7! His performances are anything but high-brow and he infuses his concerts with humour (both verbally and musical humour akin to the defunct Les Dawson!). Dale formerly studied classical guitar with John Mills (who was himself taught by John Williams, Julian Bream and Segovia!) and he has had masterclasses with many professionals including Richard Durrant (Sky). At University, Dale gained an impressive array of musical qualifications including a first-class music degree, M.A. with scholarship, and a PhD with scholarship in '12-tone music and cryptography'. Expect a warm and friendly atmosphere, and an experience unlike any other classical artist!

Singer-songwriter

Style: Pop, Rock, Jazz, Soul.

Maria moved from the northern town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea to study for a B.mus music degree at the University of Kingston-upon-Thames Surrey. She has a versatile and athletic voice and can sing anything from Ella Fitzgerald, Shirley Bassey, Nirvana, Beatles, Kate Bush (Maria sings an incredible version of Wuthering Heights), P.J. Harvey, etc. Expect originals and covers, coupled with a highly unique stage-presence, sung with sophistication, dexterity and passion.

Genie In The Jukebox.

A rock-based band who perform a selection of popular classics - both rock and ballads

Style: An eclectic mix of music by The Beatles, Kate Bush, Jefferson Airplane, Nirvana, Rolling Stones plus original compositions.

Genie In The Jukebox are a rock-based band who perform a selection of popular classics - both rock and ballads - and an eclectic mix of music by The Beatles, Kate Bush, Jefferson Airplane, Nirvana, Rolling Stones plus original compositions.

Singer Maria Ahearn fronts the group. Maria puts the genius into the 'Genie'. The regular musician in the band is Desi Desperate (ex-Gun Club, Roland Howard & Nikki Sudden), who is a drummer with a wealth of professional performing experience, having toured in the UK and abroad; meanwhile Dale Harris throws the classical guitar through the hotel foyer in favour of his often distorted wide-necked electric guitar (plus variety of plugged-in guitars and midi guitar-synths). The mixture of personalities and styles of the individuals that comprise Genie In The Jukebox is an exciting and unique collaboration.

Classicalesque

Classicalesque perform a range of popular and jazz songs with difference.

Genre: Acoustic / Fusion / Other

The classical influence is apparent in jazz songs such as 'Misty' and The Beatles' 'A Day In The Life' where Classicaleque recreate the huge orchestral build-up and ending of the Sgt. Pepper album. The Classicalesque even find something classical even during rock standards such as Jefferson Airplane's 'White Rabbit' or 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' by Nirvana! In addition, Dale Harris perform some guitar solos including some J.S. Bach, Spanish guitar standards and popular tunes and Hilary will play some famous classical repertoire.
