16 tons - Crossroads Barbershop Quartet murry537 - 1,063 views - 3 weeks ago
The barbershop quartet Crossroads singing the classic soul tune 16 tons. Jim Henry has a lot of power and it really comes through in this performance! My favorite part is right at 2:34.

Crossroads is currently ranked 2nd in the world and is the clear favorite to win the gold this year. Check them out at http://www.crossroadsquartet.c om/

MultiTrack recording with Garageband 09 Tutorial murry537 - 1,294 views - 1 month ago
In this tutorial I walk you through how to do multi track recording in Garageband 09. I'm not covering software instruments or MIDI, that will have to be a different tutorial.

Most of what I go over can be applied to previous versions of Garageband or other recording software as well, because there are always similarities with any multitrack software.

Be sure to subscribe if you like my vidoes!

Redline Barbershop Quartet singing Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight murry537 - 1,798 views - 2 months ago
The barbershop quartet Redline singing Rick Spenser's arrangement of Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight. This was recorded at the afterglow of the Plymouth, WI barbershop chorus show in 2009. Redline is no longer together, and this was one of their final performances. Enjoy!

Multitrack Barbershop Tag - Sleepytime Down South murry537 - 31,085 views - 1 year ago
I'm back with another Multitrack Barbershop Tag! This is one of my all-time favorite barbershop tags. It's a great one for beginners because the lead only has two notes, the tenor isn't very high and the bass isn't very low. I'm not sure I got the video sync'd correctly, and I added some EQ, compression, and reverb but no pitch correction of any kind.

Multitrack Barbershop Tag - Each Time It Rains murry537 - 16,483 views - 1 year ago
I'm back with another Multitrack Barbershop Tag! This is from "Yesterday I Heard the Rain" arranged by Brent Graham (thanks BbshopLover).

I'm pretty sure this is my favorite tag of all time, so I had to give it a shot. I don't hold a candle to Realtime, but at least I didn't slaughter it. It's a hard one, so don't try this at home unless you have a high range, plus the lead has a 25 second post the way that I recorded it. To see where I got this tag watch this:

Enjoy, and happy holidays!

Multitrack Barbershop Tag - Fall Down murry537 - 7,853 views - 1 year ago
This is a tag that I wrote. It's dirty and has a big chromatic walk that is freakin' hard to tune, but sounds sweet when it resolves. I'm not much of a bass, and you'll hear that at the end because I can't hit that bass note very well.

As far as audio processing, I added compression, EQ, and a touch of reverb, but not any pitch changing of any kind. So all the tuning is pure me (for better or worse).

I reserve my copyrights on this, but please feel free to sing it and teach it to people as long as you are not getting paid. If you ARE getting paid then contact me and we'll work something out.
