A channel dedicated to promoting the work of the band Japan, it's ex-members and affiliated artists...
About Me:

Long time fan and champion of the music by Japan & David Sylvian

*ANNOUNCEMENT!!!*
My new book on David Sylvian is now on sale here: stores.lulu.com/Eurotech

*PLEASE NOTE*
A large amount of my videos were recently taken down by YouTube after a complaint by the BBC.
This saddens me, the material I posted here was NOT available for sale and came from video tape that I've had since the 80's.
I'm sorry that this material is no longer available for fans to view here...

24/7/07 - I just had the clips of David on Italian TV removed, after a complaint by RAI.
Which again sucks, because the quality was low and RAI has not made these videos available for purchase...

17/10/08
The Tweaker video was just taken down too...
...So sad, because this like all the videos serve as great free advertising for the artists...I feel there's some serious short-sightedness going on...

*Update - I'm pleased to see that the Tweaker video is live again after the copyright claim being retracted!
Now, if only the BBC would follow suit...*

*As of Jan 8th, 2009, my videos have had
1,907,525 views!!! *

Hello!
I saw David SYLVIAN several times in concert with JAPAN in 1979, 1980 and 1982 then solo.
The last time it was in October, 2007 in Paris...
It was a magnificent concert I went out of it totally upset!
D. SYLVIAN is a rare sensibility !

Glad to have found you on Youtube. Have been a Sylvian fan for 26 years now. I was lucky enough to be at the Chicago, USA show that some of the photographs were taken in the new book. What an amazing show, and with Steve Jansen being there, I was more than happy. I'm going to order the book asap. Got to see him back in 93 on Halloween night when he performed here with Robert Fripp. If he comes back, i'll be there. Thanks again and thanks for letting me share.

Did you also have your Sandii & the Sunsetz album signed by her in 1982? I prefer Yuki's version as this was the first one I heard.

Great, how you put Something in the Air as one of your favourites! I still know all the lyrics by heart, just as all the Japanese ones from more of Yuki's/YMO's tracks. Silly, how we can reproduce lyrics without knowing what they all really mean. MInd you, this is how I learned Italian, Japanese and Turkish!

Hi! To answer your question about what's new? Well, I'm a twin who had twins nearly five months ago! It has been fantastic. (I closed down my old YouTube channel when pregnant before that--could not keep up.) So no working at the art school for me at present--life as an English teacher is on hold and it's the magic and fun of being an urban mama with two in tow! You Tube gives me good access to all my art/music/photography/film/humanties "vitamins"! Good luck with new books. I enjoyed seeing your art on the deviant art website above many months ago when we were linked at my old channel. What are the "deets" on these new books? Good news. Best, Erika

How are you doing these days? Are you still doing lots of art photography? I do enjoy this channel. :) Best, Erika in SF

Thanks again for your collection of videos. My copy of the limited edition of Manafon just arrived in the mail. I'm going to wait until I have a quiet moment to sit and listen to the CD and watch the film Amplified Gesture. (I had to tell someone who might understand my excitement of the release of new David Sylvian material.) ;)
Cheers, Leslie
