I have a great family,. A terrific boyfriend and six wonderful children, five boys and my oldest is a girl. I also have furbabies; Brownie she is a Afgan Hound mix and Maximus he is a White English Bulldog http://www.bttbab.com/
-------------------------------------------------------------------- My oldest son Zackery was diagnosed with ADHD/ODD at the age of 2, he is now 15 and very brilliant, I chose no meds and I'm glad I made that decision. Also two of my other boys Jacob and Aidan that are in the Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Jacob has been diagnosed several times, first PDD NOS then Aspergers, Bipolar and now we are back to PDD NOS. On paper the Neuro-Psychologist says Aspergers, and in my heart thats what I believe his true diagnosis is also. Aidan has fallen into the diagnosis of straight up Autism. This long journey started with a simple doctors visit in November '07, my pediatrician calmly and firmly said your son Jacob has PDD NOS characteristics (mind you this was after SEVERAL concerned office visits and SEVERAL developmental delays). I went home and thought to myself, whatever this is I can handle it.... I had an eye opening experience ahead of me. Our first neurologist put Jacob on Anxiety medicine and in two days he was trying to kill himself and pull out his hair, I immediately stopped giving him the medicine and looked up the best pediatric neurologist team in the area. Since then they have both been diagnosed in the Autistic Spectrum Aidan started on Trileptal but they switched him to Carbatrol and poor Jacob has been switched from Trileptal twice a day, to Neurontin twice daily, and 200mg of Carbatrol and back to Trileptal 3x's aday. For a few months they were NOT medicated because NONE of the meds were working and my children are not test subjects or freaks to be experimented on. Not to mention they WILL NOT put my children on anti-psych meds that aren't even approved for anyone under the age of 12. With that said, we have made the decision not to vaccinate our youngest child Caleb until he is two years old (other than his DTaP an obvious necessity). We have done enough research and realize between our two personalities and traits we have passed down, we will wait unti his immune system is stronger. Jacob was on Abilify and Straterra but has since been removed from that due to a psychosis and four day emergency institutionalization. He currently takes Respidol, Tenex, Cogentin and Depakote and that seems to be working, along with a new school and good teachers. I do my best to give the boys gleuten free foods, also have started them on a strong anti-oxidant supplement and pro-biotics.

You seem to think automatically an Autistic child is undisciplined and that shows how LITTLE you know. Please go spend your time somewhere else, your ignorance keeps my children from getting help. My family receives absolutely NO federal or state help more simply put: NO DISABILITY, NO WELFARE, NO FOOD STAMPS, NO WIC, NO STATE INSURANCE.
