I rise to mark the death of a good friend and a good friend of America. Svend who died last month after a long struggle with cancer. He was the first Vice President of the Danish Parliament and was a political legend in his country. I had the opportunity to meet and work closely with Svend on many occasions, most recently when he was one of my gracious hosts on a trip to Denmark this May... (less info)
