In 2013 the DFL-led legislature made a mistake. By extending sales tax to commercial warehousing services they put thousands of Minnesota jobs at risk. Minnesota is the only state in the country with such a tax, putting Minnesota warehousing companies at a significant competitive disadvantage. This poorly thought out law came from an effort to raise as much revenue from new taxes as the DFL could this past session, cumulating in their $2.4 billion, everyone-pays-more tax plan. The warehousing tax must be repealed before hardworking Minnesotans lose good paying jobs to other states.
