We wanted to call the US pilot Going For the Gold, as that was it's working name, but the title is registered in the US to a previous show, so we had to come up with an alternative, hence Run For the Money....and the rest is history....:)

and fyi, Going For Gold was the UK version of Run For the Money, not the reverse, as the US pilot sold the UK and French series.

we taped Run For the Money (Going For Gold USA) with Bill Rafferty in LA at ABC in 1987, not in London as rumors report, but since it's an unsold pilot to the US, I cannot post it, as it is still considered a viable commodity by Fremantle, sorry.

OK. Hey, Mitt, I read somewhere that Bill Rafferty went to London to tape a pilot for an American version of "Going For Gold". It was called "Run for the Money", and Bob Hilton announced. Do you have a copy of it you could post on YT?

Hi Mitt, I recently saw a listing on a website that Grundys made a US game show pilot called MatchMates. All it said was the host was Michael Burger and the tape date was 11/10/1985. Do you know anything about that pilot including how the game was played?
