About FrankEdTechBSU

I am part of a graduate level class learning to apply educational technology in the classroom using videos and YouTube. This new class at Boise State University called YouTube for Educators is part of the Master of Educational Technology degree program. The videos I hope to populate my YouTube site will be ones that apply to education, instruction, classroom technology, and a few for fun and hobby.

I am a single father who lives with my 7-year-old son and wonderful girlfriend, Shelly. We live on two beautiful acres in the Columbia River Gorge, and in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. I've been the managing partner of a small chain of bowling centers for 23 years, and decided to go back to school to upgrade my knowledge. I earned my BSIT in August 2007, and I'm currently a Master of Educational Technology student at BSU. During my bachelor degree, I discovered the field of Ed Tech and also fell in love with the online learning environment. After I graduate from BSU, I hope to teach college classes online. My ultimate goal is to use my education, teaching experience, and business experience to provide new learning opportunities for motivated students in both college and the private sector. I'm highly motivated to help people improve their information technology skills because I believe many states are failing to teach our youth how to use computers, and new technologies in general. When a state only requires 1 computer class for graduation, as does my state here in Washington, it's not difficult to identify the problem. In the future, I hope to help in any way possible to improve our educational standards in the field of information technology.
