How do I cut my own hair so I don't go for too long and let the damage get  really bad? I only get my hair cut about twice a year (my mom won't take me more often) so a lot of damage happens. I like having long hair but it always gets gnarled at he ends and I have about 5 inches cut off at a time.

I have had enough of that "short hair is easier" myth. That myth needs to be debunked. Long hair does not need to be washed as often as short hair.
