Pecha Kucha 20x20 @ WIAOC conference
WIAOC stands for Webheads in Action Online Convergence and is an unconference run by the webheads, a global community of language teachers who are passionate about using technology to enhance their lessons in class.
This technology is also the reason they connected in the first place when it all started about 10 years ago with a text chat, an online platform and lead to a vibrant, active community. Apart from the WIAOC conference, the webheads are largely responsible for the EVO Sessions (Electronic Village Online) the fringe training camp before the main TESOL conference in April.
Pecha Kucha 20x20 is a presentation technique invented in Japan in 2003 by Klein/Dytham.
A Pecha Kucha night live online is a fast-paced series of speedy presentations. Each presenter is allowed 20 slides auto-advancing every 20sec.

Henry Emery Virtual Round Table on Demand
Henry Emery is co-author of "Aviation English (Macmillan)" who met us for a learning conversation on Friday, the 26th of June 2009.
Henry is one of the most outstanding contemporary Aviation English experienced professionals and highly-skilled trainers. He works closely with the International Civil Aviation English Association and he is co-director of Emery Roberts language consultancy (www.emery-roberts.co.uk).
AVIATION ENGLISH
Their excellent book AVIATION ENGLISH equipped with one of the most comprehensive teachers books is a winner of the ELTon Awards 2009 (British Council Innovation Awards) and meets the language proficiency requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization for use of plain English alongside with RT phraseology by pilots and air traffic controllers.
The Aviation English package provides the all-inclusive solution that is necessary to achieve ICAO Level 4. It is technically accurate on phraseology but the plain-English skills training demanded by today's ICAO legislation is what makes it the first one of its kind and totally distinguishes it from the materials published so far.
What impresses mostly the learner and the teacher is the brilliant choice of aviation topics, the quality of the materials, the easy-to-use plain English in aviation context in combination with the right phraseology.
