Kirstie, who has been Keep Britain Tidy's celebrity ambassador for the past 15 months, made her pledge on twitter while she was attending a meeting with the charity yesterday.
Within minutes, Keep Britain Tidy was inundated with new followers and Kirstie's threat had been retweeted by the likes of Lord Sugar, Stephen Fry and Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
Of the 150 beaches receiving awards, 71 received the Blue Flag and 111 received the Quality Coast Award. 32 of these beaches were awarded both the Blue Flag and the Quality Coast Award.
