My name is Justin B. Terry-Smith, I'm a Black Gay man living in Laurel, Maryland and I am HIV+. I've decided to share my story because I feel it's important that people who have unprotected sex know what they might be getting themselves into. People have asked me why I am doing this, why have I put my personal business out like this. I tell them it is to help educate people, to make them aware and to make them think twice about having unprotected sex. This is my personal journey that needs to be told to help the community. HIV is neither glamorous or a rite of passage. Watch the Journal and think twice. In the words of Pedro Zamora, "I'm not dying. I'm living with it"
About Me:
A man who won't die for something is not fit to live.

Well here we are living in a world of misunderstanding, perceptions and assumptions. Its time to change. Let's us try to love one another despite differences. Whether we are Black, White, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native American, Gay Straight, Bi-Sexual, Transgendered, etc. Now is the time for understanding and tolerance. We need to understand that those of us that want change need to come together and speak up and be heard. With the future comes change. Change in our society, culture and hearts. Issues like Gay Marriage, Gay Adoption, Don't Ask, Don't Tell etc are issues that need to be addressed either through peaceful civil disobedience, writing to officials, voting, and media coverage and exposure. There are organizations like the Christian Coalition, Promise Keepers, Focus on the Family, Family Research Council, Concerned Women for America, American Family Association, Exodus International and associate, The National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality, The Eagle Forum, Traditional Values Coalition, American Center for Law and Justice, Heritage Foundation, Rutherford Institute etc that profit from openly discriminating, harassing, and blocking Lesbians, Gays, Bi-sexual, and Transgender (LGBT) people from basic human rights. These organizations must be stopped. Don't give them money or contribute to there bigoted notions of the "Gay Agenda" On the other hand there are other organizations that need support in our (LGBT) community's fight for acceptance andInterests: equality. These organizations include:The National Black Justice Coalition http://www.nbjcoalition.orgEquality Marylandhttp://www.equalitymaryland.org/Human Rights Campaignhttp://www.hrc.org/Maryland Black Family Alliance http://www.marylandbfa.org/PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays)http://www.pflag.org/ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union)http://www.aclu.org/GPAC (Gender Public Advocacy Coalition) http://www.gpac.org/NYAC (National Youth Advocacy Coalition) http://www.nyacyouth.org/
