About Me:
23rd Jan 2012 - Currently working on Sting 'Seven Days' and Van Halen 'Jump' for some Charity shows. Doubt they will be good enough for a YouTube post though :-)
Also working on the next iGenesis video - the full Duke Suite.
COMING UP -
GENESIS
In The Cage
iGenesis - Cage Medley
DIRE STRAITS - Sultans of Swing live
Right, anyway: I have two big hobbies in my life - drumming, and riding my road racing bike up French mountains. Wish I could do these all the time, but like most people, I have a day job too (pants).
On here you'll find over 95 videos of me trying to play along to The Police, Genesis and other interesting drum parts.
I started drumming when I was 8. I am self taught and have not had any lessons. So I can't tune drums, I have poor 'style' and I cannot read music to save my life. I am now 47, and so have been playing for 39 years. All these years of trying to play to Genesis and Police in my living room have finally found an outlet via the world-wide web!
In my real drumming life, I play in a blues-rock band, called 'Cornerstone'. A bit different to Genesis and Police! I am also the drummer and a founding member of iGenesis - an international Genesis Tribute band that exists only in cyberspace.

I get numerous queries on the sticks I use with my accoustic drums. They are FLIX STICKS.
Flix sticks are not quite brushes, and not quite sticks: they are in-between. I often use fluorescent ones. There are various different weights. Get 'em off Ebay or any decent shop. You may have to order via UK, depending where you are!

Anyway, it's great fun trying to polish these tracks sufficient for a post on YouTube. Hope you enjoy 'em!
When not drumming, I love rushing up the French Alps on my beloved Trek racing cycle. In 2006 I finished the 'Etape du Tour' (Stage of the Tour de France) which involved 3 mountains and 117 miles, all in one day. Between you and me, it nearly killed me.
Anyway, I love climbing the French Alps (and Mont Ventoux in south France) on my £4000 carbon Trek racing bike. Having said that, I recently discovered the Rockies in Colorado, USA, and those are AMAZING mountains - they make the Alps look like little bumps. Me and my Trek loved 'em, even though there was no oxygen to breathe up there! But there was Elk, and emptiness, and scenery that makes you want to cry! Awesome. Gotta go back soon!
For the cyclists out there, my best times are:
Alpe d'Huez - 54 minutes (in 1997: I was young)
Mont Ventoux - 1 hour 58 mins (set in August 2009 - I am now old, but this time is not bad, frankly!)
'Jouxplan' (promounced 'zshoo-plan') is a mis-spelling of a French Alpine climb, Col du Joux Plane - a mountain me and my bike did not get on well with. Actually it's the first mountain I ever stopped and turned around on, to my endless shame......
Still, I am in good company - Lance Armstrong hated that climb too! And more importantly, I recently went back and climbed the beast in 65 minutes non-stop, from the difficult side......aaaaaahhhhh!!
