About Me:

As an atheist and student of Islam for several years, I have become convinced not only that Muhammad is as terrible a person as has ever lived, but that his "religion" Islam is a threat to us all - Muslim and non-Muslim alike.

According to Islam's own texts, Muhammad was a mass-murderer, a rapist, a torturer of people he knew to be innocent, an enslaver of innocent people (including black people), a pedophile, and a thief of other peoples' lands and goods. There is no significant crime he didn't revel in.

Unsurprisingly, he had his values written into his Qur'an, and they are also reflected in the collections of hadiths (stories of Muhammad's sayings and actions).

Islam currently preaches *execution* for the following of our fellow-citizens: Apostates [Muslims who leave Islam], married "adulterers", homosexuals, atheists, and blasphemers.

It preaches world-conquest, and the execution of all Jews before "Judgement Day" can arrive, and it preaches the fighting of all Christians and Jews until they live in "a state of subjection", and pay a special tax to their Islamic overlords.

Islam explicitly preaches the beating of women who are not "obedient", and it is also explicitly opposed to democracy.

How can we let a cult have tax-exempt status when it preaches the EXECUTION of any of its followers who leave? Why should an explicitly murderous cult which threatens citizens be legal at all? And how can we ever have world peace while Islam poisons the minds of so many people?

Education is the answer. Muslims are of course ordinary decent people who have been raised in this cult without free choice, and without full knowledge of all of Islam's teachings. Many Muslims I've spoken to have decided to leave Muhammad's cult when they become aware of all that it stands for.

Naturally this is extremely difficult for them - given Islam's threats, and given that many religious people see the religion they get raised with as somehow an inherent part of their identity. It is a testament to the innate decency of so many Muslims that they do want to leave Islam behind in the trashcan of history.

If we become educated about Islam we can help Muslims and also protect ourselves from the encroachments of the worst cult ever devised. For ex-Muslims, or those thinking of leaving, I recommend considering the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain - www.ex-muslim.org.uk - as a source of support.
Country:
Canada
Books:
Currently: 'Understanding Muhammad' by ex-Muslim psychologist Mr. Ali Sina - a masterpiece; 'Why I am NOT a Muslim' by Ibn Warraq - an excellent book exposing Islam; 'THE CASE FOR ISRAEL' by Alan Dershowitz - brilliantly exposes the mad lies and misinformation spread about this liberal democracy; 'INFIDEL' - by (ex-Muslim) Ayaan Hirsi Ali - a fine intellectual; and 'Now They Call Me Infidel' - by (ex-Muslim) Nonie Darwish - an exceptional book for those wanting a deeper understanding of Islam's quasi-Nazi pathological hatred of Jews and Israel.

Hi - what would you like me to prove? I mean no offense, and I acknowledge you are no more to blame than I am for Islam's teachings. Do you want me to prove Islam mandates warfare? That Jihad is the second-best action in Islam after believing in Muhammad/Allah? That Islam explicitly preaches terrorism, rape, murder, pedophilia, theft, the killing of those who "insult" Muhammad, the beating of women, and the second-class nature of slaves? That Muhammad invented Islam to suit himself? I can prove any of these things to your satisfaction.

Hi, peace to you also. Unfortunately Islam mandates WAR, and preaches EXECUTION for people like me & the other 6 billion people in the world who think Muhammad was a liar (i.e "blaspheme").
Qur'an 2.216 WARFARE is ORDAINED for you, though it is hateful unto you; but it may happen that ye hate a thing which is GOOD FOR YOU, and it may happen that ye love a thing which is bad for you. Allah knoweth, ye know not.
4.95 Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and FIGHT in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons..
9.111 Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods...they FIGHT in His cause, and SLAY and are slain..
Hadith of Bukhari 2, 26 "Allah's Apostle was asked, "What is the best deed?" He replied, "To believe in Allah and His Apostle (Muhammad). The questioner then asked, "What is the next (in goodness)? He replied, "To participate in JIHAD (religious fighting) in Allah's Cause."

Hi. You've implied the answer in your question, which in formal logic is called "begging the question" (type those words in at Wikipedia for more info). The correct question is "Do natural phenomena imply a creator?". For the answer, consider in primitive times people believed wind implied a blower, rainbows implied someone to set the rainbow, lightning-bolts implied a lightning-bolt thrower, earth-quakes someone to shake the earth, species needed someone to create each kind, canyons someone to scoop the earth etc. They created "gods" to explain each phenomenon. But for centuries scientists have known this basic truth - Natural phenomena occur without the interference of a creator.
So, "creations" like the wind, lightning, earth-quakes, different species, canyons, mountains, rainbows, etc, all occur naturally, without a "creator".
This doesn't negate the immense value of certain Christian teachings such as the 'Peace, Joy & Goodwill to all' values of the recent Christmas celebrations.

Hi. Interesting comments. Of course I agree the Qur'an specifically says it *has* been changed, with "better" verses replacing some verses, and "like" verses replacing originals. (See 2.106
"Whatever communications We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring one BETTER than it OR like it..")
But why don't you see this is because a fraudulent man fabricated the Qur'an? An omnipotent, perfect "god" wouldn't make silly mistakes when writing a book of instruction for ALL people, in ALL countries, for ALL time. But a man would.

Similarly, only a man would include verses in such a book which only concerned *him* alone - such as verses allowing him to have sex with his various wives out of turn (33.51), or dictating that the "spoils of war" were for him alone (8.1), or dictating that dinner guests shouldn't annoy him (33.53). All of these prove that the Qur'an is NOT intended for all humanity, for all time, but was invented to suit a particular man in his own place and time.

1) Abrogation of recitation.
2) Abrogation of ruling.
3) Abrogation of both ruling and recitation.

In light of this the Muslim propagandists would contend that the passages which we referred to fall under the first and third categories, which explains why they are not part of the Quran any longer.

Unfortunately for these dawagandists this explanation doesn't solve the dilemma but actually raises additional problems for them to address.

One of the ways Muslims have tried to work around the rather clear and explicit witness of the hadiths that there are missing verses and surahs is to argue that all of these additional passages and chapters were abrogated. The Quran itself does mention abrogation:

When We substitute one revelation for another, - and God knows best what He reveals (in stages), - they say, "Thou art but a forger": but most of them understand not. S. 16:101

God doth blot out or confirm what He pleaseth: with Him is the Mother of the Book. S. 13:39

According to Islamic scholarship there are three types of abrogation, something never once stated or even alluded to in the Quran:
