I find it amazing that there are so many christian totalitarians in our country and on youtube. A number of correspondences with the christian taliban inspired a small piece:

Of christianity:

Out of nothing came an omnipotent, omniscient supreme being. There is no way to prove the existence of this amazing feat, but that never deterred the gullible.

This supreme being then created a world. He created dinosaurs, elephants, and people. He did it in six days. What a work ethic.

This supreme being had a nasty temper and a sadistic appetite: he tortured, he murdered, he enslaved. Nothing was too brutal or too gruesome. Then he changed his mind; maybe I should be less harsh he thought. Maybe I should change my ways.

He decided to have a child. My son will rectify my past actions. I will have my son let mankind know what I want of them and that I love them. My son will spread my message.

This child, however, was illiterate, so he wasn't able to write it down. What a shame; the supreme being hadn't thought it through completely. Still, the child was to provide a new message: all who believe will live forever and escape hell. All was well until his father fell into an awful mood again. The idea of ending a cycle of sadism was too much, so he decided that his son should die in agony. The supreme being had his son whipped and nailed to a cross. This made the supreme being very happy. The End.

And then there are those who think the atheist position is incredible. Go figure.

If you are an atheist, let people know; more will make themselves known.

If you're tired of religious tyranny, let your politicians know that you want god removed from our currency and that churches should not get tax exemptions.

It would be useful too if academia used a different dating system, a more rational and universal system. I think dating to the invention of writing would be far more useful. If that were the case and depending on the precise dating of writing, we are living in the year 5310 SW (since writing). For me, this draws attention to the fact that after over five thousand years of literate civilization, we should be far more advanced than we are.
