About Me:

Hello.

I am Taro, the owner of Haru Cooking Class -Kyoto-.
I teach the very basics of Japanese cooking.

I make cooking videos for people who like Japanese food and wish to cook Japanese food at home.

I like SIMPLE cooking, but I also want my viewers to have DEEPER understanding of Japanese food. I will do my best to give out as much information as possible. Also, as accurate and percise information as possible.

I will try to make all videos in English.
I want more people to understand what Japanese people eat/cook on daily bases:)

I apologize in advance for my poor filming and editing skills.
I hope to improve on this aspect.

@dax, thank you so much for your support!!! haha!! Japanese curry, I get that request once in a while in Haru Cooking Class -Kyoto- as well!!! I am surprised as curry is Indian food!! However, I understand Japanese style curry is very different and many people want to know that is the difference. Japanese curry uses wheat flour to thicken the sauce, as Japanese rice is juicy and sticky, it does not go well with thin sauce. Also, Japanese people often put in grated apple or banana or chocolate to sweeten curry. Japanese people like sweetness very much, because we only drink tea or water during meal and we tend to take in sugar from meal. Now tha tyou tell me, I might do Japanese curry video in the future:)

@hotshot, cheeze and tofu are sometimes seen as toppings for okonomiyaki. Eating the sauce with them is worth a try:) Well, the best part about cooking is trying new things(and they taste good!)!
