Dragos's Biography

Have you ever felt that you facial expression can simply break out in pieces, just because the temperature is way too low? Well, I was born in such a place. It's called Miercurea-Ciuc and you can find it on any Transylvanian map.
I was around seven when I started realizing what's going on around me and it was then that I first got to see a real television studio. You can imagine the thrill of it... at that age! I gave up the regular toys in no time and became my mother's right hand by helping her to establish the connection with the national broadcast. At that time, the only way to send the news images ( my mother was a news correspondent) was to use a relay. It was 1996 and Romania had low quality television equipment... not that many things changed ever since. I only knew that the video part is assured by a yellow cable and the audio part by the two, white and red cables.... and that was it! But I loved doing it...
Time went by. I was only 16 when I got my first real job in the industry. I was given the chance of learning how to direct a live broadcast, by taking care of the live transmission in itself. I felt the unexplicable at my first live broadcast, when the countdown began. On the other hand, I was feeling rather prepared to do this job. In many ways, I feel the same. I'm deeply fascinated by this world and I permanently try to learn new things.
I carried on by learning the basics, such as handling a camera, establishing the ligthing, setting up the exposure and so on. I moved on to editing, which remained up to this day not only my job, but also my passion.
I trust that my reel will reveal that passion...
