Felice Pignataro was born in Rome on 6 February 1940. Raised in Mola di Bari (Ba), moved to Naples in 1958 to study at the University, at the Faculty of architecture first, then theology. Naples has housed the College Newman, of F.U.C.I., of which he was Director for several years, until 1972. From 1967 he carried out, along with his girlfriend Mirella, a controscuola for the children of the barracks, first at Poggioreale A.R.A.R. Field, then at the.S.E.S. Secondigliano. Married Mirella in 1972, he settled permanently in establishing Scampia (the northern suburbs of Naples), from where he continued to put its huge artistic skills at the service of the "past".
In 1981, with Mirella and others, he founded the cultural association the USER GRIDAS (Group awakening from sleep) in order to provide tools to awaken dormant consciences. Within the framework of activities carried out with the USER GRIDAS was characterized as "the most prolific muralist del mondo" (definition given by e. h. Gombrich, the Warburg Institute in London) achieving over 200 murals around the Neapolitan hinterland, but also in the rest of Italy. In addition to establishing Scampia, created the neighborhood Carnival became a tradition in over 20 years. It was an important point of reference for groups and associations fighting that have found it always available to support their own battles with its multi-faceted creative art. Since 1994 has also applied the technique of mosaic made of broken tiles in the manner of Antoni Gaudi, creating works in Italy and in Marxloh-Duisburg, Germany. Felice died in Naples on March 16, 2004 for a lung cancer, leaving his "witness" to all those who have known and have been "infected" by his creativity at the service of social redemption. Felice's principal works are represented, mainly, by more than 200 murals and 22 years of neighborhood Carnival made the USER GRIDAS.
But his creativity is expressed in a thousand ways, all brought together by wanting to put their artistic skills at the service of providing various groups fighting tools, almost always "at no cost", to give more voice to their battles. This is the case of many different stickers made in linocut; the banners "customized" and made alive and expressive by its symbols; roller frames for paintings "Telegridas", the TV, on various themes of struggle to support; and mosaics made of broken tiles, in the manner of Antoni Gaudi; the sculptures in wood is large, to "furnish" public spaces, small, both to demonstrate the potential of "use of the hand". He advertised the USER GRIDAS initiatives and, sometimes, other groups realizing their own posters linoleografate.
Even the paintings, the pirografie or small wood carvings, numbered among his productions, have over the years undergone developments and have enriched the way materials and methods applied and then also tested in laboratories at the USER GRIDAS creative carried out at schools or "available
