What is "identity313?"

Identity313 was founded in the Fall of 2009 by a group of young men eager to serve God and know Him more. The name is based on Hebrews 3:13, "But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin."

I firmly believe the Lord is doing great things with the younger generation of believers. He is preparing them to unite with all generations of brethren across the globe; with one thing in mind, pursuing holiness.

The Lord is paving a way where we will see this come to fruition. He is the Creator of all things and we are patiently waiting for His hand in guidance and provision. This is something that is definitely not a new idea. As we know, there is nothing new under the sun. The way to truly spark our generation of believers to pursue holiness is not only through our own intimate relationship with God but also with an intimate accountability relationship with those mature believers in the faith.

"There is no fraternity as important or as significant as the church and the communion of saints. Obviously, the church is not an organization exclusive to men, so perhaps we can speak of the church as both a fraternity and a sorority. But in any case, the idea of team participation is clearly present. There is no such thing as a one-person church.

Certainly we are not saved or justified by the faith of our families, friends, or associates. In one sense, redemption is an intensely individual matter. But once we are justified, once we are in a state of salvation, we are immediately put into a group. We are immediately put into the church.

The church exists as a corporate body. There is a corporate solidarity that defines the identity of the New Testament church. There is no room for rugged individualism. No one has been given all the gifts of the Holy Spirit; no one has an opportunity to "hog" the ministry.

What is needed in the church is a kind of familial relationship that is a brotherhood and a sisterhood. It can be learned in part outside of the church in other endeavors, such as the world of sports or even the battlefield. But the deepest knitting together of human beings for a common cause, a common faith, and a common Lord exists in the church of Jesus Christ.

By His Grace, we must prepare, put on the armor of God, and stand firm in the faith!

Please join us in this pursuit of holiness, that we may present ourselves holy and acceptable before God. Let us spread "identity 3.1.3" across the globe together! Initiate the idea of meeting together at all costs, whenever and wherever, if you have not already. Cast your doubts, cares, and worries before the Lord and watch how He will uphold you by His righteous right hand. Meet with fellow believers to pray, study, teach, praise the Lord, and confess sins one to another...
