HUFF is Santa Cruz's oldest and most stubbornly persistent grassroots homeless advocacy group. We make trouble for the powers that be and fight institutional human rights abuses such as the "blanket ban": a Santa Cruz City Council law prohibiting homeless mothers and children from covering up with a blanket between the hours of 11 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.

Robert Norse is a journalist, radio personality, founder of HUFF, and noted annoyer of City Council members.; An opponent of ongoing patterns of suppression of First Amendment rights to free speech and other civil rights violations against the houseless and impoverished. Norse hosts in studio questions on his radio show , Broadcast Schedule is Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. and Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at freakradio.org.
