I was wondering if you could help me with a problem I'm having with my mare.

She is a Standard bred and she used to race in a harness. The first time we tried to trot we thought she'd pace. The guy that had her before her last owner said she had a smooth trot. NOT RIGHT! She goes up and down purposely, we can't touch her with our legs when she does this no matter how hard we try. It's impossible to post or sit. It literally knocks the wind out of us. We try collecting, then she plants her feet and stops. We have seen her trot and pace nicely when she's outside or being lounged. She's a faker.

I am a cowboy with horse riding and stable experience and although I am not the most experienced I have been complemented by others with more experience on my horsemanship abilities and I want to learn more.
