Helen Petts, visual artist, painter and film-maker. Studied Fine Art at Goldsmith's College and film at Westminster University. Worked in mainstream film industry and TV as a director and assistant director. Now more interested in art-based personal work - principally landscape film and collaborations with musicians, especially free improvisation. Currently working on film commission for Hatton Gallery, Newcastle, about Kurt Schwitters (see artist's blog http://helenpetts.tumblr.com/). Recent work includes "TAPS - Improvisations with Paul Burwell" for Matts Gallery - collaborations with 12 free improvising musicians, including Steve Beresford, Phil Minton and Max Eastley.
See this and other selected art work on www.vimeo.com/helenpetts.

For more videos of free improvised music filmed by Helen Petts and others at Mopomoso concerts at the Vortex Jazz Club - see www.youtube.com/mopomoso.

NOTE TO PROMOTERS AND MUSICIANS - Please feel free to embed or link my work to your websites but please inform me and credit me. And I will not expect to pay to get into your next gig. It costs a lot of money to keep this site going!
