When I wear my Obama t-shirt out and about I occasionally get these looks that seem to say, "What's an old white guy like you doing supporting Obama?" I even had a lady ask me one day if I was really supporting Obama. I convinced her I was.

Why am I an Obama supporter?

When I was 10 years old in 1961, I heard JFK give his inaugural speech. It inspired me, so much so that I have had a life-long interest in politics.

I have voted and worked for a number of candidates in the last 40 something years, both Republican and Democrat. But note one inspires me like Barack Obama does. Note one has evoked the same sentiments I felt with JFK.

Maybe I should vote with my head or my pocketbook...but, screw it, I'm voting and working based on my heart.
