as mentors and friends. New Chuck Wayne footage from his 70th birthday concert posted courtesy of drummer Frank Ferreri, also from Staten Island who played with Chuck from '78 till final gigs. Jimmy Knepper footage in favorites section with Mingus Dynasty does not actually reflect his superb improvising ablility but better than nothing until the real thing comes along. Although the great bassist Vinnie Burke did not live in Staten Island and did not drive, many of us drove to New Jersey to pick Vin up and return to Staten Island for gigs at Peter's Lounge on Clove Rd. or sessions at Vinnie Ruggieris' studio. There are two short shots of Vinnie Burke in favorites section playing with Charlie Shavers and Buck Clayton in one video and BIg Joe Turner in another. It was the wonderful trumpeter Don Hahn who not only played with all of us but brought many of them back out playing in the late 60's. This site was put together by jazz guitarist Peter Prisco in honor of his teachers and friends. And finally, a fine example of the wonderful Knepper and his solo ability..YES
