A Message for You
Being a Math teacher, I have interacted with students (online & offline) from world over. I have heard their personal stories and problems related to Mathematics. Thus I can assure you,
your child is not the only one in this world who fears Mathematics ( Mathophobia is now a
well known term of psychology ).
Some students confuse their fear with hatred. Like it is hard for me to tell if I fear the lizards more or I hate them more .... :)
Seriously, it seems Math is one thing that has been troubling people of all ages , of all professions and of all intelligence level. Surprisingly so, after all the entire Mathematics revolves around just 10 digit ( from 0 - 9 ). And here lies the point.
All our lives we have tried to glorify Mathematics and made ourselves believe that to master Mathematics we need more IQ than the great Einstein .....(who incidentally, too failed his Math tests )
To make the matters worse, from an early age we were encouraged to rely on Calculators.
Thus paralysing our mental Math muscle even further.
The subject of Mathematics at the level of learning can be divided into two part -
Mechanical and Analytical
For example, ability to do fast mental calculations is mechanical. With little practice students are able to calculate like reflex action. The first EasyCal Series helps you develop this skill.
Analytical part of Math is knowing how to proceed to solve a given question. That is which rule or formula to apply. The second series demonstrates this skill for Algebra. You can solve most difficult questions, equations and word problems of Algebra almost instantly.
I would recommend that you subscribe to this youtube channel and then visit
the Glad2teach Website (Click on this link) to watch things in action.
For many years now these EasyCal Videos have been a popular
tutorial on Faster Mathematics.
Best Wishes,

May we all keep our pursuit of knowledge and wisdom alive.
" For every one that asketh receiveth and he that seeketh findeth and
to him that knocketh, it shall be opened..."
God created mankind to seek. Even Buddha had to seek his Enlightenment.
All the Best

Faith is a big thing for me, I was wondering...
What is your faith?
May Allah bless you always with His best
Ameen!
Mathematics is like swimming. Once you have learn it you seldom forget it. You may forget the formulae but your Mathematical instincts forever remain with you. All you need to do for your interview is to get your confidence back in Mathematics. Start by brushing up your basics using your school textbooks ( I still have mine !! ).
I know you are going for an MPhil interview not for an admission into kindergarten but basics forever remain the same.
In the interview you should lead the interviewers in a subtle manner to your desired topics of discussion ( to your strengths, Math topics you are passionate about !! ) The purpose of an interview is to find out what you know well (and not what you don't !! ). Thus most interviewers do appreciate when you take a pro-active stance leading the discussion in the right direction. Be confident and polite.
You have my Best Wishes
