60GB has been running for at least an hour now.
The only issue so far is that the Fan has been running at max speed for the whole hour straight.
I couldn't get any top quality heat sink, just some simple Nexxtech stuff, which could be the reason for the fan's odd behavior.

I've had by 80GB PS3 since 2007 and have never had a problem with it until 2 days ago. The YLOD. A few keystrokes and all I see is Gilksy in every other post. Thank you for the video tutorial. I stopped at Radio Shack to get some Arctic Silver 5 on the way home yesterday, grabbed a heat gun from my brother-in-law, and about an hour later...bam...good as new! Thank you so much Gilksy!

Just fixed my six year old 60GB console with your guide! I had to re-re-apply the thermal compound a second time to get it to work, but hey it worked. Here's to hoping the fix lasts for awhile! Great stuff, thanks.

I had an 80gb backwards compatible ps3 that ylod and thanks to your videos i was able to reflow it successfully and got my saves back and even got 100 $ worth of store credit at gamestop for it.Tthank you so much for the detailed vids on fixing my ps3 :)

Hey mate, does every single PS3 model get the YLOD?
I bought the 320GB silver slim model because my 60GB got the YLOD. I am going to look at your tutorial next time i try and fix it. ive attempted to fix my PS3 60GB 3 times and the first time i did it i used a hairdryer and it lasted for 2 weeks. The 2nd time i did it i opened it up and did the heatgun method which kept it alive for 15 mins which was not good as the fix which is not recommended worked for 2 weeks rather than 15 mins. the 3rd time i did the hairdryer trick again but the green light stayed on for about 10 seconds and then it go the ylod again.

my 4yr old 60GB PS3 that I have went YLOD on me yesterday, with your guide I was able to get it fixed. Thank you so much!
