Interview with Michael Bussee Co-Founder of Exodus
Michael Bussee, one of the founders of Exodus International, the largest "exgay" organization in the nation is now a gay man who speaks out against Exodus.
My story of growing up gay attending Coastline Bible Church
When I entered middle school my family switched to Coastline Bible Church (known then as First Baptist Church Ventura) because it had a more active youth program.
What my parents were not aware of were the radical right wing ideas and anti-gay gospel taught at the church which even filtered down into youth programs.
As an ex-gay survivor activist I have spent the last several years telling my story of having gone though ex-gay therapy but have never elaborated much on how my church's teachings affected my decision to pursue therapy.

People Who Tried To Change In Ex-gay Programs
Leaders of 'exgay' organizations such as Exodus International like to assert change is possible and point to themselves as proof that 'change is possible.'
In this series of interviews survivors of 'exgay' programs explain how they too once believed their sexual orientation only to realize later a genuine change had NOT occurred.

New Life Church - Soulforce Action
On July 8, 2007 three people who once tried to change their sexual orientation gathered for a press conference outside New Life Church in Colorado Springs, the former church of Ted Haggard. The purpose of this press conference was to highlight the harms and dangers of such therapy as told from a survivor's perspective. This is one of many events in Soulforce's Survivor's Initiative which will continue through the month of July.
