About Me:

Eric Wirsing has been surrounded by music his entire life. As a child growing up in Olympia, Washington, his family's home was always filled with classical music, due to the fact that his mother was a classical opera singer and pianist. His mother practiced regularly in the home and it was in seeing her dedication to her craft that Eric was first inspired to play music. Taking music lessons at a very young age, Eric became confident with many other instruments, however, the moment he picked up the guitar for the first time, at age 12, he knew this was the instrument he wanted to master.

While Eric today cites Pat Martino and Greg Howe as two of his favorite players, his early days were filled with the guitar music of Eddie Van Halen. It was after hearing Van Halen's first album that Eric became obsessed with the instrument, practicing as often and as long as he could and dreaming of one day performing on stage.

Eric had his first performance after only seven months of playing the instrument and it was his second concert at age 14 that he was asked to be in a local cover band. After a year, however, he realized his ear and taste had moved to Fusion, bringing together diverse styles of playing and genres of music. Eric's interest in Jazz and Bebop grew with artists like Pat Martino, Pat Metheny, Charlie Parker and John Coltrane. Soon, after receiving a full scholarship, he decided to continue his studies at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Eric was ready to jump into the music business after only two years at Berklee. Since then, he has spent the past nine years teaching guitar and bass in the Harrisburg area, all the while honing his craft as a player and a writer of music. Recently, Eric has been the lead guitarist of the Julie Schreiber Band for the last 10 years and has co-written the songs for their 2005 release "Landing", received an endorsement from the legendary guitar pickup company DiMarzio, won first place in a Harrisburg "Guitar God" contest, and worked with international guitar legend Greg Howe as the head transcriber/producer of the Official TAB book of Howe's most recognized album, "Introspection". He is currently working with Greg on his first instrumental guitar album, due out in early 2011, as well as studio session work, the occasional Guitar clinic, and heading the opening of a Music Academy in Mechanicsburg, PA. In most recent news, Eric has received an endorsement from Dean Guitars and is proud to be one of their artists!

Man you should post video lessons of the guitar solos you play, they are really perfect, so many amateur guitarists could learn how to play 'em.
