About Me:
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and 15 years in campaigns. I've done work in North & South Dakota, Minnesota, New York, California (I LOVE LA!) & Washington, D.C.
I got my start in politics as a field organizer, but now I mostly do online outreach, new media strategy, event planning, logistics, and general creative & design. I also work a lot with social media & other forms of Internet flim-flam.
Political work: I've worked for Senator Al Franken's 2008 campaign (and recount), two Congressional races (Pomeroy & Powers), the Democratic National Committee (DNC), the Minnesota DFL Party (DFL), Smart Growth, and the North Dakota Dem-NPL Coordinated Campaign. Outside of campaigns, I've done online outreach for Kids at Risk Action, the Marijuana Policy Project, Residents for Accuracy, Truth PAC and several pit bull rescue organizations. And because I really enjoyed designing campaign logos and planning fundraisers, I started my own creative consulting business about three years ago.
Some of my stupid Internet things have been on MSNBC, Politico, CityPages, Huffington Post, Wonkette, Gawker, Boing Boing, Washington Post, The Nation and others. I was named one of the 'Twin Cities Titans of Social Media', at one point I was on the Fix's list of top state political bloggers and I was a finalist for politics at the 3rd annual Shorty Awards.
Outside of politics, I have a passion for radio and have hosted shows on Air America AM950 in the Twin Cities, North Dakota Public Radio, and Artists First.
