Some of these edits are influenced by the photographic work of Dorothea Lange and others during the depression and pre war years of the early 20th century.

Extending to the visual, Stockhaousens 'Spectrum of time' theory where the 'ranges of perception are ranges of time, and the time is subdivided by us, by the construction of our bodies and by our organs of perception' (See the influential essay "How Time Passes")
Using these ideas to show the people within the films and the difference between them and us(or lack of).
They are Ghosts that we see, but dont hear, were flesh, but can never touch or understand.

TanDog sees these videos in the same way as lyrics, ie they give meaning to what might otherwise be seen as a technical exercise

They are amalgams of edited (sampled?) pre-existing or 'found' non copyright video material with original soundtracks by TanDog, FONIK, Aht-n or bacilus.

The videos can be likened to a collage or music sampling, where images or musical phrases are cut up and/or repeated to make a different picture or song, emphasising or changing the meaning of the source.
