The musics enjoy parity of celebration.....The music also features the Uilleann or elbow pipes, whistles, guitar, 4 voices and is driven by the African djembe. Adding myriad percussion and other instruments to original and traditional songs makes a unique and exciting combination of traditions and sounds. A unique celebration of cultural diversity and linkages.....From performances at state occasions in the Whitehouse and for Irish Presidents, from crowds of 40,000 to workshops with schools and small groups of children affected by the N Irish conflict, the music of Different Drums symbolises in a small way the capacity of the people of N Ireland and beyond to see the benefits of collaboration and cooperation toward a peaceful and inclusive society.
