dieselducy, the train layout at Macy's in Downtown St. Louis is is up. Between November 27th and at least the third Saturday or Sundy in December, the train will be running. Plus, when you filmed the elevators at that store, there are some freight elevators on the Locust side of the building. They are kind of hidden. Around sometime in January or February, the floors above 3 are going to be closed off. So if you want to film the freight elevator, and the train, you might want to plan on sometime in early December to come and film the train and the freight elevator at Macy's.

You'be nailed it about some of today's elevators being nothing but junk. The Schindler 330As in the parking garage do NOT like having their stop switches thrown. I sure would love to see the gated ones come back. The only downside to mdernizing a gated elevator is you really cant' do much to it. I think that the best thing to do to a manually driven gated elevator is to clean it and polish it once a month. Now how can you take a modern elevator and give it a vintage look? Such as taking the inside door and replacing it with a gate, and the outside door, I am thinking of installing a window.
