..."Working in the city'...What a wonderfully intoxicating piece of sonic alchemy this is. The more I listen to it the better it sounds. Anyone who hasn't listened to this 'measure of brilliance' has only lessoned themselves...

You had me in real tears, when I heard Sinkers, Hooks and Things. I had lost my father, and every word in that song was from the same cloth as my Father! You gave me solace. Now, you've created a song that again tears at my heard; my man Robert, is preparing to leave for Iraq for the third time. How the words in A Soldiers Dream truly encompass all that Robert and I feel. Though the words are bitter-sweet, there is such beauty, that hope grows from them. And I know he will be back in my arms, soon and whole! We will keep listening to you, and thank you for such a gift you have given me!
Much Love and Respect, Leena in Houston

...Dear Doug - Hard to encompass, within the simple realm of a song, the sorrow, guilt and remorse suitable to the attrocities of a people. American's have their 'Indian guilt' (and more), as the Aussies may more currently admit theirs towards the 'Aborigin'nal's.' I adore and applaud the effort, but to be realistic - Simple words cannot take us back from whence we came. Besides, it's hard to apologize for something you weren't dirrectly apart of. It just ends up sounding phony...
