CodeBlueNow! is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization building a grassroots network to reform the health care system. Health care reform must be taken out of the hands of the politicians and industry stakeholders. Only the public can successfully implement a viable and trustworthy health care system.

History: CodeBlueNow! emerged from the Build An American Health System Challenge in October 2003. Founder Kathleen O'Connor challenged the American public to submit ideas to build a sustainable health system. Nine independent judges were selected and reviewed over 100 proposals. The contest was held on October 23rd, 2003, and CodeBlueNow! was formed the next day. The following Declaration for the Health of America is based on the key principles and core elements from the top ten proposals.
