About Me:

I grew up in Southern California and learned bonsai the traditional way from Japanese and Japanese American bonsai artists. I have been practicing bonsai for 20 years, and have approximately 100 bonsais in my yard. Other than that I'm just a regular middle age guy with a tough day job and a need for serenity at home that the bonsais seem to satisfy.

I also play golf badly, love video games, good books and movies, and I'm always up for a good road trip.

I grow bonsais because the only thing I enjoy more than creating beauty is cultivating lasting beauty.

One other thing: I'll take negative criticism from folks who are qualified to give it. If you don't have a bonsai website, photos or vids of your own trees, then mind your manners or you'll be blocked.

Hi, I've been watching your channel, planning on making bonsai from crape myrtle seedlings. I was wondering if you could possibly make a video on how you take care of the wounds after pruning? I read they should be slightly indented to stimulate better healing but have no clue how this is done. Cheers and keep up the good work

I have been watching your videos and they have helped a lot. I just purchased my first bonsai, it's a juniper. I have heard from a lot of people that a juniper needs to be grown outdoors under 60 degrees so it can go dormant. I live in Michigan so with the harsh weather I cant keep it outside. But you live in Ca Ive noticed and it barely gets colder that 60 during winter months (depending on where you live). Basically I"m asking can I grow my juniper indoors? I have it next to a window, in a room that's usually about 55-60.

I got 4 exquisite bonsai high quality pots from Houston, TX at J.R.N. II nursery;

plus a willow ficus and bouganvilla starter bonsais. Also an added special bonus: a sleeping night tropical mimosa tree.
