MEET EMMETT AGAPAY
Emmett Agapay began dancing in 2001 at Vista High Schools airband competition. After graduating in 2002, he was left with nowhere to dance so with the help of Eddie Macaranas, they both decided to start a garage crew called Choreo Cookies. In 2003, Emmett became a member of FORMALity and served as the companys Artistic Director for the 2005-2006 season. After 4 years on FORMALity, he decided to move on from the company but couldnt decide where he wanted to go. A friend jokingly brought up the idea of resurrecting his old crew from 2002. The idea stuck with him and in January 2007, Emmett brought Choreo Cookies into the competitive dance scene. Since then. Choreo Cookies has been fortunate enough to compete in the major competitions such as Prelude, Vibe, Fusion, Ultimate Brawl, World of Dance, and Body Rock.
Aside from being the director of Choreo Cookies, Emmett is also directing a junior team called Breakthough and has been there director since 2004. Also, he is currently the Artistic Director of Studio 429 in Encinitas, CA.
MEET JEFF MORALES
Born and raised in North County San Diego, Jeff Morales has dedicated many years to his love and passion for hip hop dance. He first became interested in dancing while attending Mt. Carmel High School. There he danced alongside his classmates and friends in annual Airband competitions in 2003 and 2004. Following this, Jeff spent his next few years on the San Diego based all-male dance team 'Formality'. Then, in 2005, Jeff became a member of the small dance team from San Diego: 'Choreo Cookies'. Since then, Jeff has been a great help to the group's success by not only contributing choreography to some of their award-winning medleys but also by becoming the team's co-director. In the four years that he has been a member of 'Choreo Cookies', Jeff has furthered his leadership outside of his team with credits including: Co-directing a special needs hip-hop dance team, continuing in his fourth year as a dance instructor at Studio 429, and most recently as a co-director of the junior hip hop dance team 'Tru-Definition' in their 2008-2009 season. Through these past years, Jeff has developed a sincere joy in being a student and teacher of hip hop dance. He has been an inspiration to many individuals who also share a love for dance and creates a positive atmosphere for other dancers through his leadership, encouragement, and loud laugh.
