PROUD to be FILIPINO ! ! ! !
Enzo is 16 years old and has been playing the piano for over 6 years. He was born in Manila, the Philippines in 1995 and started on the piano at 9 1/2 years old with his older brother as his first teacher. In 2006 at 10 years old, he began formal piano lessons at the University of the Philippines, College of Music, Piano Extension Program under Prof. Mauricia Borromeo.
At age 12, with just over 2 years of piano studies, Lorenzo had his first piano recital, playing Mendelssohn's Concerto No.1 in G minor which was dubbed as "the recital of the year by a young artist". At age 14, he had his second solo recital assisted by the Manila Symphony Orchestra under Jeffrey Solares with Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor as the main piece. His third recital on June 30, 2011 was Liszts', Piano Concerto No.1 in E flat Major, again with the Manila Symphony Orchestra. Both the 2nd and 3rd recitals were given excellent reviews by Manila's press.
As part of his piano education, Lorenzo, since age 11, has been encouraged to join most of the piano competitions in our country. As a result, he has repeatedly won the top prizes of those competitions for his age group including the most prestigious piano competition of our country, the trienial National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) and the yearly piano competitions of the Piano Teacher's Guild of the Philippines (PTGP). He also won the first prize in the University of the Philippines, College of Music 2008 piano competition as part of the University's centennial celebrations.
Lorenzo wishes and dreams of one day becoming an accomplished Filipino pianist who will proudly represent his country.
