After ministering on the streets of Russia, the jungles of Thailand and the slums of India, I've had a hard time dealing with our American Church Mentality.

Christ did not call for the Church Industry. He did not call for the Church Business. Church has no identity - nothing to market except its flesh. Our Identity is Christ - the church is no thing. Market Christ? He doesn't need Marketing. Serve Christ - through marketing? No. Through obedience.

Connecting with people right where they are--- is all about loving God, then loving people. It really is that simple.

Completely modern church.

good criticism of the modern church... but the church is not just about marketing itself or connecting with people, if the gospel is not there, the whole gospel, then there is no reason to connect with people. Unitarians are great at getting together but there is no power to change lives eternally in what they teach.

again, good criticism, but we need to hold cultural relevance in one hand and the unadulterated message of the gospel in the other.
