The Azusa Pacific University Department of Theater, Film, and Television is a Learning community dedicated to the study and practice of the cinematic and theatrical arts. Department faculty train and mentor students in writing, directing, production, acting, and criticism -- combining mastery of craft with scholarship. The program encourages the artistic and spiritual growth of students and the exploration of their calling from a thoughtful and culturally engaged Christian worldview.

The Azusa Pacific University Cinematic Arts program doesnt just teach filmmaking... we train and mentor students in the art of cinematic storytelling. Coursework is designed to challenge and inspire students to develop stories that are rich with depth, insight, and passion.

Located just a few miles from Hollywood, APU Cinematic Arts students learn the art and business of film & television production in a hands-on environment that has superior access to professional people and resources.

Our multifaceted approach combines great classroom learning with a tremendous amount of practical production experience. And, having the choice of three tracks of study allows students to organize learning priorities around their own career goals.
