avoozl07, your lack of imagination is the problem here, not the entire scientific community. Though a bird and an banana share a common ancestor, that common ancestor would have bourne little resemblance to either, being on the microscopic scale.

Also, the Creationist assertion that all of humanity is descended from one couple is completely ludicrous. Such a level of inbreeding would produce such a distincit lack of biodiversity it would certainly have led to the extinction of the human race. Variation is essential to the survival of a species.
