Me and my band playing the songs and basslines I like the most, but mainly a tribute to my all time favourite bass player: Pino Palladino
About Me:

My grandpa played the accordion (folk music), my mother sang in a choir... that's where I took my music attitude from. My father worked in a bank that's why I got a degree in economics and I'm working in an asset management company. I'd rather tried to become a musician but when I was a teenager my parents would have kicked my ass if had told them so.... Anyway, I've been lucky to take the right skills from both of my parents: with my dad's musicality and my mother's attitudes towards the finacial markets I would be a complete failure!

When I was a child I used to play keybords but when at the age of 14 (1985) a friend explained to me that the 4 string bigger guitar was a BASS and produced the sound I liked in Iron Maiden intros (Wratchild, Killers to name some) I realized it would become the instrument of my life.

I started with a cheap EKO bass playing U2 songs, then I concentrated on Iron Maiden and Marillion. Then one day I bumped into a live version of Paul Young's Wherever I Lay My Hat ant that's why I started playing fretless (1988).

I started playing with some school mates of mine in 1987 and we've playing together since then (only the guitarist, after having the third child couldn't keep on playing with us and left 2 years ago): that's BubuBand: the Worst Band in History! We challenge everybody else in the world to play the songs we play as badly as we do and still be so brave to gig around!

My basses too evovlved along the years: EKO, Warwick Streamer Fretless ('88), Yamaha TRB6 ('93), Laurus 6 T800 fretted ('05) and fretless ('06) and so on... At present, my pride and joy are the 4 Pre Ernie Music Man ('77 SRay and '79 Sabre fretted; '79 SRay and'79 Sabre fretless) a '63 PBass and a '66 JBass.

I play just for fun, I'm kinda self taught, Iplay 99% by ear and I hardly read music... I have very few scores and tabs!

Man, you are great. You have the skills to do a book with all of Pino's cool transcriptions. (Just like Dr Licks and the Mowtown Stuff). Give it some thought as I am sure many others around the world would buy the book.

love your Palladino covers....any chance you could cover Chris de Burgh's "Lady in Red" and post it? i'm not positive that its Palladino on the studio track but it sure sounds like his style. i do know that Palladino was one of the bassists that played on that album (Into the Light) when it was produced but don't know what tracks to which he contributed. in any case i would love to hear that bassline more clearly like you've been able to do so well w/ other songs. either way i appreciate your work.

Crisp video and good audio balance of bass and backing track. Super playing of classic songs. Can you face the camera a bit more straight-on so that us beginners can study your hands better? Thanks and keep them coming!

Alessio, You have nice name.....By the way, I am interested in speaking Italian and learning Italian culinary arts. Some day I plan to tour Italian and attend a cooking school while I am there. Also, I do not believe in the negative sterotypical attitude towards musicians. I think musician are creative, artistic & gifted. You have a blessed day. It would be nice to hear from you again. Dee
