A Little Intro...

Hiya :)

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my channel. :)

My name is Holly Kirby, and I'm a 19 year old (November 15th Scorpio :)) singer/songwriter living in Southern England, U.K. I'm currently on a gap year before taking my place at University in October 2010. I decided to take a gap year as a bit of a break from all the exams etc. and primarily - to enjoy doing whatever I like with my music. I'm trying to do as many gigs as possible, so if you'd like to get in touch about me playing for you, then please feel free to contact me here or on my website. A Bit Deeper...

My music has been described as a combination of Joni Mitchell and Enya with a quirky twist - which is very flattering. :) I guess the quirky twist is the 'me' bit - rather than my influences.
I like to think that I make people think about things with my lyrics and give them room to interpret the songs in their own way.
I'm influenced by a lot of things - nature, emotions (confusion being one of the more dominant ones - I'm a teenager. ;)) other people, love, etc....
I'm a very deep person and very 'thin-skinned' - a bit too sensitive really. - But I'm learning. And I'm learning that, however much I learn - I will still know nothing. Lol. :)

There are so many! Literally every piece of music that I listen to, along with the people I meet and life in general. Musical influences include...Enya, Loreena McKennitt, Joni Mitchell, Sandy Denny, Amy MacDonald, Texas/Sharleen Spiteri, Dido.
