RADIO ONE YEAR-END CHARTS: 1976 - 1993 (excl. 1992)
Listen to the way pop music changed between 1976 and 1993 with the year-end countdowns from Radio One. (If anyone out there can help with the 1992 countdown or others, please let me know. Thanks).
I'm uploading various weekly charts which I think are interesting. Hopefully I'll have time to complete all the charts some time. I am uploading the 1993 countdown at the moment.
One thing I've realised is that quite often the weekly charts are just as interesting to listen to as the end-of-year ones, mainly because most of the big hits of each year are well-known whereas a lot of the stuff in the weekly charts sometimes tends to be forgotten despite being great music.
A few people have commented about some of the videos being in the wrong order; please use the playlist section where everything is in the right order. The video section is not always in the right order because I've had to re-upload some of the videos due to problems with blocked videos.
A lot of videos are being blocked by WMG and UMG. I might re-upload them with edits.

I'm interested in British politics and election night in particular. I've uploaded the BBC's 1992 election programme at the moment; the show was hosted by David Dimbleby, along with Professor Anthony King of Essex University, Peter Kellner, John Cole, and Peter Sissons interviewing politicians in the studio. (I've chosen the 1992 election because it was the last really close and exciting election). One interesting fact about the 1992 election is that John Major's victory for the Conservative Party involved winning just over 14 million votes, the biggest total ever in British electoral history. My favourite elections website is UKPollingReport.

Books:
Favourite writer is probably Theodore Dalrymple, (also known by his real name Anthony Daniels. I would recommend reading his travel books). Also Malcolm Gladwell, David Aaronovitch.
